Legend.trade Referral Cashback Explained
A precise reading of Legend's referral documentation: the base the 10% applies to, the exclusions, the claiming process, and the language we deliberately avoid.
Last fact-checked: August 21, 2026
Short answer
Legend documents one referral benefit for referred users: 10% cashback on Legend platform fees from losing trades. It applies to the Legend platform-fee portion only, not to Hyperliquid network fees or trading losses. Cashback accrues automatically and is claimed from the Rewards section of the Legend profile.
What exactly does the 10% apply to?
The base is the Legend platform fee on a losing trade, not the trade size and not your loss. On a $1,000 perpetual trade at a documented platform fee of 0.05%, the Legend platform fee is $0.50. Ten percent of that is $0.05. The number is small by design: it is a partial rebate on one cost component, not a compensation scheme.
| Scenario | Notional | Legend platform fee | Eligible cashback (losing trade) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perpetuals | $1,000 | $0.50 | $0.05 |
| Perpetuals | $25,000 | $12.50 | $1.25 |
| Perpetuals | $250,000 across 100 trades | $125.00 | $12.50 |
| Spot | $1,000 | $2.50 | $0.25 |
| Spot | $25,000 | $62.50 | $6.25 |
What is excluded?
- Hyperliquid network fees — these are charged by the underlying exchange, not Legend.
- Trading losses themselves — cashback rebates a fee, not a loss.
- Winning trades — the documented benefit is tied to losing trades.
- Any copy-trading profit share paid to a copied trader.
- Anything Legend classifies as ineligible at its own discretion.
How does it accrue and how is it claimed?
Verified factLegend's documentation describes cashback accruing automatically on eligible activity, claimable from the Rewards section of the user's Legend profile, for accounts registered through a valid referral link.
That means there is no form to fill in on this website and no code to redeem here. Attribution happens when the account is created through the referral link; accrual and claiming happen inside Legend.
Why do we never call this a lifetime bonus?
Because nothing in Legend's published material supports that word. A referral programme is a marketing programme: the rate can move, the eligibility rules can tighten, and the programme can end. Describing it as lifetime would be a claim about the future that no one on this side of the platform can make.
Editorial explanationOur view: treat referral cashback as a marginal improvement to your cost base, worth taking if you were going to trade anyway, and never as a reason to trade. If a 10% rebate on part of a 0.05% fee changes your decision to open a leveraged position, the position was too marginal to open.
How does this affect your effective cost?
On perpetuals, the documented platform fee is 0.05%. A 10% cashback on that fee, when a trade loses, brings the platform-fee component down to an effective 0.045% on those trades. Network fees are unchanged. Use the calculator on the fees page to model your own volume.

Frequently asked questions
Is the cashback paid in cash?
Legend documents cashback accruing to the account and being claimed in the Rewards section. The form and timing of the credit are determined by Legend.
Does cashback reduce my trading losses?
No. It rebates part of one fee component on losing trades. It has no effect on the loss itself.
Can Legend change or end the programme?
Yes. Rates, eligibility, and availability are controlled by Legend and can change at any time.
