How to Check Whether a Crypto Trading Link Is Genuine
A repeatable checklist for confirming that a trading, referral, or support link goes where it claims.

Why link verification matters more than anything else
Most crypto losses that are not trading losses come from reaching the wrong site and authorising something there. The attacker's whole task is to get you onto a domain you did not check. Everything else — the interface, the branding, the urgency — is theatre built on top of that one step.
The verification method
- Find the official domain in the platform's own documentation, not in a message or an advertisement.
- Read the domain in the address bar from right to left: the part immediately before the first single slash is the real host.
- Check for substituted characters: rn for m, l for I, digits for letters, and accented or non-Latin lookalikes.
- Expand shortened links with a link expander before opening them, or refuse them entirely.
- Confirm HTTPS, but never treat a padlock as proof of legitimacy — phishing sites have certificates too.
- Bookmark the verified destination and use the bookmark from then on.
